The ear - seat of balance

The ear is the seat of balance:

Note the fluid filled semicircular canals of the labyrinth in the x,y and z axes.
Travel sickness - nausea - is a confusion of one's bodily movement through space.
Indeed the modern word 'noise' has its root in the Latin and Greek 'nausea' suggesting a deep link between the spatial and audible.
